Lorem Ipsum is scrambled Latin used as placeholder text so a designer can judge layout, spacing and typography before the real copy exists. The words trace back to Cicero's 45 BC work De finibus bonorum et malorum, jumbled into something that looks like natural language but means nothing - which keeps readers looking at the design instead of the words.
This generator builds that filler to your spec. Three sliders control the paragraph count (1-10), the average words per sentence (1-20) and the average sentences per paragraph (1-20), each varying a little for a natural rhythm. The text regenerates as you move the sliders.
Filling text blocks in a web or app mockup, checking how a layout copes with short versus long copy, populating a template before the real content arrives, or sizing a print piece. Pair it with the Letter Counter if you need the filler to hit a specific length.
The words are adapted from Cicero's Latin work De finibus bonorum et malorum, written in 45 BC, then scrambled so the text is readable in shape but meaningless.
Dummy text lets you judge layout, spacing and typography without being distracted by the meaning, and it fills a design when the final copy is not ready yet.
Up to 10 paragraphs, with sentence and paragraph length you control. Generate again or adjust the sliders for a different amount.
No. The lengths vary slightly each time within the limits you set, so you get natural-looking filler rather than an identical block.
